VIEW THE RESULTS
The photographs were taken by Bob and Pam Lewis in Crete, the largest Greek island. The film was Efke 100, developed in Agfa Rodinal, 6 mins, 1+25, 20c. The results were excellent - very sharp with little vignetting. CLICK HERE to see the full Kodak camera advert for 1961.
Half of the harbour of Agias Nicholaos, in Eastern Crete. The shadow could have been caused by the case, the strap, or the Retsina.
The terrace overlooking Pitsidia & Komos Bay, Southern Crete.
Pitsidia, with the White Mountains in the background.
Matala Bay, in the Prefecture of Heraklion. The cliffs contain artificial caves, and are a major tourist attraction. The extensive beach is popular for water sports. A pensive tourist rests on the rocks and stares wistfully out to sea.
The caves were cut into the cliff in prehistoric times, and were later used as tombs. In the 1970s the caves were home to a commune of aging hippies. When they were eventually evicted by the authorities they became PR and Media Consultants. The cliffs are very beautiful at this time of year.
The Church of Annunciation of the Virgin Mary, Fodele, in the north of the island. A terrace and apartments in Agia Palagia.
